More and more employers want to receive training on diversity

More and more employers want to receive training or take a course on diversity which deals with legislation for example, says Unia.

Between 2015 and 2016, the number of hours of training given to companies and the public sector increased by 35%. To meet this demand, Unia offers on-line training, via the eDiv platform, on anti-discrimination and anti-racism laws. In this context, two new modules, Diversité et Handicap, were presented on Wednesday in collaboration with FEB.

“Online courses are becoming increasingly successful,” says Els Keytsman, Director of Unia. “Since their launch in 2014, we have had more than 12,000 users.”

“I am convinced that the recruitment of candidates whose profiles are related to immigration, disability, youth or the elderly, can help in the search for products, solutions and markets which would not have been thought of spontaneously, “adds Pieter Timmermans, Managing Director of FEB.

The new module on the topic of disability offers, among other things, videos in sign language or is adapted to people with visual or auditory disabilities. The technologies used on the site also allow people with motor disabilities to navigate without a mouse.

“Innovation is crucial for the integration of people with disabilities,” says Els Keytsman. “This first Handicap module is a first step.”
