Seven ski centers open in Belgium

Areas for cross-country skiing are open in Signal de Botrange, Baraque Michel, Mont Rigi, Mont Spinette, Hautes Fagnes and Elsenborn, and the Eifel, as well as the alpine ski slopes of Ovifat, announced Sunday the Eastern Regional Tourism Office.

The facilities at Baraque Fraiture, in the province of Luxembourg, are also accessible.

Six ski centers are now open in the eastern regions (cantons). It was reported from Signal de Botrange that skiing conditions, however, remain average despite good snow quality, with a layer of 20 cm.

Skiing lovers will be able to indulge in the highlands of the Fagnes with tracks from 5 to 25 km depending on the junctions taken. In Elsenborn, skiers can move from 2 to 14 km. All tracks are ready except the longest ones. Alpine skiing focuses on the Ovifat piste where only the blue and green pistes are open.

At Baraque Fraiture, in the province of Luxembourg, all downhill ski slopes are now open. For cross-country skiing, only the 3 km track is accessible.

You can also go sledding in Elsenborn, Ovifat and Baraque Fraiture as well as snowshoeing on Mont Spinette.
