Thalys launches summer route between Brussels and Bordeaux in 2019

In June 2019 a new “Thalys Soleil” line will be inaugurated between Brussels and Bordeaux.

During the summer months travellers can travel between the two cities in just over four hours, Thalys announced in a press release on Tuesday. The new “Thalys Soleil” between Brussels and Bordeaux will run on Saturdays and start at 40 euro.

From April next year, thanks to two new destinations (Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Marne-la-Vallée), the area east of Paris will be directly linked to Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam.

The Thalys trains themselves will also given a new look by the Belgian designer Axel Enthoven (Yellow Window), with design advice from the French designer Matali Crasset. In these trains, more places will also be set up for bicycles. The renovation is expected to be completed in 2022.
