Agfa-Gevaert lands a contract for close to 700 million euros with the Pentagon

Image group Agfa-Gevaert has secured an important contract with the US Department of Defense.

The “HealthCare” group of Mortsel will, through this contract, supply the Pentagon with a system providing a digital registering system for a maximum amount of 768 million dollars (687.5 million euros).

The Pentagon announced last Friday the establishment of a contract which Agfa Healthcare won in competition among seven candidate companies.

The contract has a duration of five years with the option of five additional years.

All elements (land, air, sea, marine corps, civil services) of this US federal administration shall have access to the services developed by the Belgian group, through its location at Greenville, South Carolina.

This new contract was welcomed by investors, with Agfa-Gevaert stock gaining over 10% Monday on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
