The Belgian short film “L’immense retour (romance)”, directed by Manon Coubia, won an award at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

This was announced by Wallonie-Bruxelles Images on Sunday.

“L’immense retour (romance)” is described as “story made into an authentic adventure, a journey in time, one of those fantastic stories that mark us and come back to us… sometime decades later”. It won the Pardino d’Or for Best short film, and has been nominated for the European Film Awards at the end of the year.

The short film was shown for the first time during the Festival, and beat 26 other films from around the world. It was backed by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation’s Cinema and Audio-visual Centre (CBA).

This year’s edition of the famous Swiss Festival also saw another Belgian win an award, as actress Barbara Sarafin won Best Actress.
