BNP Paribas published good results for the second quarter in Belgium

The National Bank of Paris, BNP Paribas, achieved good results in the second quarter of 2018 in Belgium in the retail sector and amounted to 345 million euros, which is 6% more, according to the latest quarterly report of the French bank.

BNP Paribas, which conducts retail activities in Belgium through BNP Paribas Fortis, registered a 4.5%-increase in loans in Belgium in the second quarter, while deposits increased by 4.6%.

In the second quarter of this year, the BNP Paribas banking group achieved a stable net profit of -0.1% over a year. Its commercial dynamism was once again wiped out by the low interest rates and a slowdown in market operations. From April to the end of June, it made a net profit of close to 2.4 billion euros.
