One person stabbed at De Brouckère metro station

One person was stabbed this morning at the De Brouckère metro station in Brussels.

The Brussels Capital-Ixelles police zone has indicated that his life is not in danger. This confirms information which appeared online on Bruzz. Two suspects were arrested for questioning. One of the entrances to the station was temporarily closed following the incident.

The incident happened around 6.40 a.m. For a reason which still remains unknown, three individuals had a disagreement which degenerated into a fight. In the course of this, one of the two received a knife wound in front of one of the entrances to the De Brouckère metro station.

The victim was taken to hospital but, as already indicated, his life is not in danger. The two other people involved in the fight were arrested for questioning.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has started an investigation.

The police temporarily closed one of the metro station entrances, so as to take fingerprints. Passengers were able to access the station via the other entrance, and passenger traffic into and out of the station was not interrupted. The security perimeter was lifted around 8 a.m.
