Ansaldo STS has been awarded with contract on Brussels metro

Brussels city transport operator STIB has awarded the French subsidiary of Ansaldo STS a framework contract for the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of communications-based train control and automatic train supervision equipment for metro lines 1, 2, 5 and 6, Railway Gazette uncovered.

An initial €88m firm contract covering east–west lines 1 and 5 which share their central section was announced on August 2 and is to be signed after the regulatory standstill period. The scope includes integration of the CBTC and ATS with the passenger information and public address systems.
