Federal police agents, State Security investigation services and the Ministry of Defence will soon have “super-software” which will enable them to collect intelligence.
This will allow them to unmask presumed terrorists and preachers of hate on the Internet. This was published on Monday by the Mediahuis publications. At the beginning of the year, the cabinet approved software capable of automatically detecting websites disseminating hate propaganda.
The government will decide, after the summer, which institution due to use the software should host it. The objective is that the police, the State Security investigation services and military intelligence service can use it from the end of the year or the beginning of next year onwards. The combined cost of making the software available and its operation will be €6.8 million.
