Heavy-duty trucks banned from Brussels city centre

Heavy-duty vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes are now banned from the Pentagon – the area located within Brussels’ small ring -, the alderwoman in charge of mobility within the city council, Els Ampe, announced on Friday.

“The historic city centre comprises three little streets that are not adapted to heavy-duty vehicles,” Ms. Ampe said. “Signs indicating the ban will be posted. The city is also working with the navigation systems for them to propose alternative routes.”
