Six pays adhérents ont déjà désigné leurs futurs commissaires. Tous envoient à Bruxelles des “poids lourds” : la Lettonie propose sa ministre des Affaires étrangères Sandra Kalniete, la Pologne sa ministre des Affaires européennes Danuta Huebner, la Lituanie sa ministre des Finances Daila Grybauskaite, la Slovénie son ministre des Affaires européennes Janez Potocnik, l’Estonie son ancien Premier ministre Siim Kallas et Malte son ministre des Affaires étrangères Joe Borg.
