Antwerp vehicle suspect: no planned rise in terror threat level in Belgium

Despite the “potential attack which was avoided” in Antwerp yesterday, the terrorist threat level remains at 3.

Benoit Ramacker, the spokesman from the Crisis Centre for Foreign Affairs is indicating this.

The announcement follows a further analysis by OCAM.

The Mayor of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, stated that the vigilance measures in the Flemish city would be stepped up. There will now be a higher police and army presence in locations which are particularly busy.
