The rise in electricity prices caused by the issues that have been besetting Belgium’s nuclear reactors is driving up inflation. Nasa’s ICON satellite is due to be launched on Thursday to study the interaction between the solar wind, the Earth’s magnetic field and the atmosphere. The Liège Space Centre (CSL), part of the University of Liège (ULiège), participated in the design, development and calibration of the FUV ultraviolet telescope that was loaded onto the satellite, ULiège noted on Wednesday. High demand for EU vouchers for WiFI hotspots in public spaces

The European Commission is launching a call for applications for the scheme WiFi4EU. The call opens on 7 November at 13:00 (CET) and will be open only until 9 November afternoon. Under the call, municipalities in EU member states can apply on-line for a voucher worth €15,000 to set up a Wi-Fi hotspot in public spaces, including town halls, public libraries, museums, public parks or squares.
