Belgium, 4th European investor in France

Belgium is the 4th biggest European investing country in 2017, standing behind 62 investment projects in France, indicates Thursday Business France, the national agency in charge of promoting the internationalization of the French economy.
These Belgian projects have made possible the creation or the preservation of 1,827 jobs last year in the “Hexagon.”

Belgian investments are mainly focused on production activities (40% of projects and 71% of jobs), company services (24% of projects), and decision centers (19% of projects). The main activity sectors are consulting, engineering (16% of projects), food processing (13%), and ITC software and services (i.e., 45% of the total jobs created by Belgian projects). Lastly, Belgian enterprises are mainly implanted in Ile-de-France (23% of projects and 51% of jobs), the Hauts-de-France (18% of projects) and the Grand Est region (13%), specifies Business France.

In 2017, 1,298 decisions to invest in France have come from abroad (+16%), creating or preserving 33,489 jobs.
